Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - is a Canadian as well as an American singer/songwriter. She's released over 20 albums. DiFranco's music is classified as folk and alternative rock, but it also has hints of jazz and hip-hop. Ani Difranco has been deemed to be a feminist hero and a Grammy award-winning. Being one of the women's first artists of the 1990s, DiFranco founded her own label. The parents of DiFranco, Elizabeth (Ross), a previous student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each one another while students at the same school. Her father is of Italian heritage, while her mother is from Montreal. Ani diFranco wrote and performed the song 32 Flavors. The track was first released on DiFranco's 1995 sixth album Not a Pretty Girl. Another version of the song is featured on the film soundtrack for 1999's Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apology was made in the year 2013 when it was discovered that she was hosting an event for three days on the site of a Louisiana former slave plantation. Many (including us) were not moved by her cancellation. DiFranco issued a new apology just a few days after the first. While she is known for her role as Little Peoplesinger, she has been in contact with a myriad of musicians and artists from Pete Seeger through Chuck D until Prince. She lives in New Orleans. Ani is Kristen Ford. When she was 14, she started to write her own music. She continued to perform them in bar and cafes in her teens. DiFranco began attending Buffalo State College when she was just 16 years old. She was a graduate of the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts at that age. Her new baritone guitar was an original guitar that Alvarez made after several consultations between her myself and Chrys Johnson, who was an artist rep for Alvarez at the time. The guitar is constructed from solid wood and has an ebony top and cedar sides. It also has it's System 600 Preamp. DiFranco lives at home with her two kids in New Orleans and Lefty, their sidekick long-legged canine who's always in the frame. DiFranco admits she's ambivalent regarding the notion to look at her work backwards, even if it's been three decades. Ani DiFranco is a writer and musician from the punk/folk genre, was 25 years old when she released her 7th album Not A Pretty Girl and achieved even more success in the world of public opinion with Dilate.
